director of sacred music at columbia university, composer

An award-winning composer and theorist, serving as Sacred Music Coordinator for Columbia University and teaching undergraduate courses at the Manhattan School of Music. He studied with Lowell Liebermann and Richard Danielpour, and is pursuing a doctorate at the Manhattan School of Music with Marjorie Merryman. As a teenager, he toured internationally, playing in experimental bands.

He has won prizes including the Society for New Music Israel/Pellman Award, the Society for Chamber Music in Rochester Young Composer Competition, the National Federation of Music Clubs Young Composers Award, and the Second Prize at the Seventh International Antonín Dvorák Composition Competition.

For NYCCMS, he provides production resources, advice, and original music.  

DR. zach gulaboff davis

Described as “beautiful, lyrical” and brimming with “unexpected harmonic shifts” (International Trumpet Guild), the music of Macedonian-American composer Zach Gulaboff Davis centers on the expressive and dramatic possibilities of compositional narrative. His works have been performed at venues including Carnegie Hall, Columbia University, University of Pennsylvania, Bulgaria’s National Palace of Culture, Norway’s Arctic Cathedral, Hamburg’s Zinnschmelze Cultural Center, New York University Steinhardt and Shanghai, the DiMenna Center, International Trumpet Guild and National Saxophone Alliance conferences, and at schools and conservatories throughout North America. His works have garnered over 25 national and international awards.

For NYCCMS, he provides composer feedback, original compositions, and artist communications.

Logan Vranković

composer, MEDIA COORDINATOR

Logan Vrankovic is a musician and editor from New York City. He has a Bachelor’s in Music Composition from The New School and a Master’s in Music Composition from the Manhattan School of Music.

He is also a music teacher, currently teaching a varied group of piano, guitar, and music theory students.

Yucheng “alex” zhang

Yucheng “Alex” Zhang’s compositions have been performed and recorded throughout U.S. and China by various ensembles including L’abri Trio, Music&Friends Chamber Ensemble, Duo Zonda, Durations Trio, Sonic Harvest Chamber Orchestra, Texas Tech University Symphony Orchestra, Linfield Concert Choir, as well as features with Charlotte New Music Festival, North American Saxophone Alliance Biannual Conference, and Atlantic Music Festival. Originally
from Chengdu China, Zhang is currently a DMA candidate in composition and music theory graduate instructor at Texas Tech University, and he served as the president of Society of Composers Texas Tech Chapter.
